20 Years in the business
20 years ago, Tim Akkerman was on the eve of his musical career. A career with highs and lows, hits, authentic choices, duets, special outings, a multitude of songs and an even larger number of live shows! Tim is now a well-known musician and composer in the Dutch music scene, and cannot be ignored.
 
The Ivy League
Since the album 'The Journey' (2014), Tim has been working with his regular band The Ivy League, and touring various countries as a close-knit group. Around the time of the third album 'Lions Don't Cry' (2019), the band was put to the forefront and the band name officially changed to Tim Akkerman & The Ivy League.
 
Album 'Silver Linings'
On May 28, 2021, single 'Silver Linings' will be the first signal from their future eponymous album. The album talks about the search and finding the beautiful sides of life, especially when life shows bleak times. Tim has made the feeling of hope and rethinking life second nature and now embodies this.
 
The past year brought the band the time and space to focus on writing new material. It's an album for all ages and is about finding happiness in the smallest things. Friendships, joy and the beauty of life.
 
Compared to the last album 'Lion Don't Cry', with which Akkerman went back to his roots, the sound is a lot fresher and up to date, but has the same energy and positive vibe! The album is another great collaboration between Tim and his band The Ivy League and is expected at the end of September this year.
